“What struck me the most was her unique and detail-oriented approach to handling children on the spectrum.”

I met Dayna about 4 months before my son Aristo was about to start Year 1 at an established mainstream school with a learning support centre. What struck me the most was her unique and detail-oriented approach to handling children on the spectrum.

The first thing she told me was to focus on the academics which was the only time anyone brought up the idea that ASD children were capable of learning like their mainstream peers. Prior to that it was always about managing behaviour and having relatively easy standards for academic achievements.

Dayna told me to find a tutor that was well-versed in ESF PYP curriculum. I did this against the advice of my son’s therapists who said that we should focus more on his emotional well-being. Thus he combined intensive tutoring with ABA, OT and speech therapies to relatively good results.

I wished I had taken Dayna’s advice 1 year earlier it would have made a world of difference.

I can attest that this is a good method. This is because when Aristo was appraised by other mainstream schools they mentioned that he already had a lot of basic foundation knowledge that would enable him to succeed in a mainstream classroom in the near future.

There are a lot more details that are impossible to be written on a testimonial. Please ask Dayna for my contact information, I’d be happy to provide more details.
